What is your ONE WORD?

To start off this year, I’m doing a lesson with my students on their “one word”. I’ve been hearing lots of chatter about this concept as the new year has rolled around, and thought it would be a fun way to introduce goal setting with my students. Here is a video (plus lots of #oneword posts on twitter) that inspired me. https://www.today.com/video/today/53957503

Here is the PPT I used to guide my lesson and the worksheet (shown above) that I use to help guide my students to their #oneword.

On Pinterest there are tons of colorful bulletin boards and wall displays that I hope to replicate. These are beautiful, aren’t they? I tried to find the where to give credit and I believe it’s here https://aplusala.org/best-practices-center/2013/05/21/the-story-behind-the-i-am-wall/

Below is how our wall display came out. It is very eye catching! As the kids have come up with their #oneword, I’ve loved looking at the worksheets the kids are filling out to come up with their one word. The section I have found most interesting is “What is getting in the way of your success?”.

I’ve been contemplating my #oneword and I think I’ve landed on Mindful. Wishing you all a great 2019. If you do this activity, send pics this way.
