Zoom Meet Up for College/Career Awareness (k-2nd grade)

We did this activity as part of our Virtual College/Career Week.. but this certainly could be a stand alone lesson for distance learning. Not only does this lesson falls under our instructional domain–> Career Development, but also fills the need for connectivity and fun with students!


Procedure: See here for details/lesson plan of how to carry this out. Easy Peasy Really! Main Points you will find are highlighted below:

PREP: Invite 4 ish staff members to join you on the zoom. They will be the game show contestants for Game #1. Students and staff will participate in Game 2 and 3.


GAME 1: Staff are contestants as the other students attending the zoom watch them play “What Career Am !?” Tell the rules “Your name is your buzzer Staff Contestants. I will be reading clues to explain a job. There are 3 or 4 clues. You can buzz in whenever you want, but if you guess incorrectly, you are out for that question.”

GAME 2: Students participate in WOULD YOU RATHER …. Career Style. They put a 1 or a 2 on the fingers to indicate what they would rather.

GAME 3: “In What Career Is This Tool Used?
